Tapeworm Dewormer

In just one dose, Tapeworm Dewormer removes the common tapeworms, Dipylidium caninum and Taenia pisiformis in dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.

Easy-to-administer chewable oral tablets may be given directly in the animal's mouth or offered in a small amount of food.

Cautions: Consult your veterinarian before administering the tablets to weak or debilitated animals. Do not deworm an animal that is sick. Consult your veterinarian for diagnosis and appropriate care.

Side Effects: In dogs isolated incidents of either vomiting, bloody stool or watery/profuse stool have been reported following treatment.
In cats isolated incidents of either salivation or diarrhea have been reported. If these signs are observed and they persist, consult your veterinarian.

Storage: Store at or below 77°F

Fasting is neither necessary nor recommended.

Retreatment: Steps should be taken to control fleas and rodents on the premises in order to prevent reinfection; otherwise, retreatment will be needed. This is especially true for tapeworms that are transmitted by fleas. In these cases reinfection is almost certain to occur if fleas are not removed from the animal and its environment. If reinfection occurs, tapeworm segments may be observed within one month of the initial treatment.

Tablets may be given directly in the dog's mouth or crumbled and mixed in a small amount of food.

Dosage:
Dog:
5 lb and under give ½ tablet.
6 to 10 lb give 1 tablet.
11-15 lb give 1 ½ tablets.
16-30 lb give 2 tablets.
31-45 lb give 3 tablets.
46-60 lb give 4 tablets.
Over 60 lb give 5 tablets maximum.

Cat:
4 lb and under give ½ tablet.
5 to 11 lb give 1 tablet.
Over 11 lb give 1 ½ tablets.

Dog: each tablet contains 34 mg praziquantel.
Cat: each tablet contains 23 mg praziquantel.
